Technical Overview

Zero Trust Tunneling (ZTT) for Edge Cloud (9327) enforces cryptographic identity verification at every hop, eliminating implicit trust zones. This benchmark evaluates WireGuard, OpenZiti, and custom eBPF-based data planes across 12 global PoPs.

OpenZiti's controller-less mesh adds 3.4µs latency but scales linearly to 1M tunnels. The eBPF data plane (XDP+TC) delivers 0.8µs p50 with zero copy, outperforming both at 99th percentile.
